Here I’m giving you guys the brother article to the top five worst Mega Man weapons. I start with the worst, and end with the best. Here I’m listing the six best weapons to be found in a Mega Man game. Why six? Why not.
TOP SIX BEST MEGA MAN WEAPONS
6. Gravity Hold- Gravity Man, Mega Man V. This is one of the few abilities that Mega Man gets that attacks the entire screen. One shot will send all basic enemies sailing to the heavens, and a few hits of this will destroy pretty much any enemy that Mega Man will come across, Mini-bosses not included. It’s a screen clearing, penultimate attack, and it just looks friggin’ cool reversing gravity.
5. Flash Stopper- Bright Man, Mega Man IV. While fundamentally very similar to Flash Man’s Time Stopper, is an exceptional weapon. Both of these bad boys can stop time, but Flash Stopper gets the edge in that you can still fire the Mega Buster while time is stopped, kicking up the cheap shot, damage dealing capabilities of this bad boy to titanic proportions.
4. Rolling Shield- Armored Armadillo, Mega Man X. Now, as a basic attack Rolling shield is mundane. As a charged attack it is, however, extraordinary. Any low-power enemy that crashes into this thing is instantly destroyed, and you can kill an infinite number of weaklings with it and no energy cost. I don’t know what everyone else did, but as a kid I used it in the hall leading to Sigma to make sure I had maxed out all 4 of my subtanks. Long story short, this thing is an amazing defensive weapon.
3. Pharaoh Shot- Pharaoh Man, Mega Man IV. This is one of the few Mega Man powers that you can charge, and the weird thing about this is that you can charge it even if Mega Man is frozen in a cutscene. When you charge it up, a large, sun-like orb of power floats above Mega Man. Should any unfortunate enemy smack into the thing, they take damage. So essentially, it’s like the Mega Buster’s older brother. Bigger blast, charges better, and some offensive/defensive capabilities all rolled into one.
2. Storm Tornado- Storm Eagle, Mega Man X. Wooooh, Storm Tornado. This thing is quite the beast. Any, any regular enemy you encounter will go down with one direct shot from this thing. It makes a huge, hyper-repetitive damage tunnel that travels forward. If you can keep up with the thing, it can act as a wind beam, cutting through the stage while you dash like a mad man. This is one of those powers that the second you get it you should pretty much always be using it instead of your regular Buster.
1. Metal Blades- Metal Man, Mega Man II. Man… Metal Blades. What can I say about Metal Blades that hasn’t already been said? It’s a beast, it’s a monster, it’s inhumanly, staggeringly powerful. Rapid fires in eight directions, does better damage than the Mega Buster (or Arm Cannon as it was called circa MM2) and does ridiculous damage to the 8 robot masters. Hell, Metal Man himself is weak against this friggin’ thing. Yeah, you heard me. This thing is so beastly that even Metal Man is weak against his own damn weapon.
That concludes my lists of the best (and worst) weapons Mega Man has to offer.
